Disney Princess High Heels for 11 Years Old

Ruthie Davis launched her eponymous footwear brand in 2006, and ever since her shoes have been worn by IRL princesses like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Zendaya. But recently, the designer teamed up with Disney to create a collection of "power princess shoes" inspired by 11 Disney princesses, starting with Snow White in honor of this year's 80th anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

"The Disney people saw my designs and asked if they could work with me directly, and the rest is history," Davis told The Hollywood Reporter. "I will cycle through the 11 Disney princesses as important princess milestones come up, from a film to a birthday or anniversary."

"I have access to the Disney assets, which is incredible," Davis told The Hollywood Reporter. "I got the Pantone number for Snow White's blue velvet gown from Disney for the exact shade of Snow White blue, and it is Disney artwork for the seven dwarfs in the heel of a velvet bootie."

Although some of the designs pull liberally from the movie's art, other shoes in the collection involve more subtle details — like a sandal with crystals inspired by the gemstones the seven dwarfs mined.

"There are a lot of entertaining surprises, like a little rose gold dwarf head on one of the shoes, that you might not even notice until you are tying the laces, and mini hand mirror zipper pulls," Davis told The Hollywood Reporter.

The next Disney princess to inspire Davis's line will be Mulan in fall 2018 — in anticipation of the live-action movie out in 2019 starring Liu Yifei in the title role.

"Mulan is very strong and courageous, determined, really independent," Davis told The Hollywood Reporter. "She's a warrior and the epitome of don't-mess-with-me girl power versus Snow White, who is a little sweeter and more innocent as she is a princess from 80 years ago."
